Los Barriles (East Cape North)
A peaceful fishing town hidden in the Cabo region
Welcome to Los Barriles
A desert tucked away on the east coast of California Baja Sur, Los Barriles is bookended by rocky shores to the Pacific and the expansive, sandy beaches bordering the Sea of Cortez. A quaint, serene town perfect for any retirement or vacation, Los Barriles has vast history and appeal.
Named “Los Barriles” because of a local legend surrounding buried treasure in barrels, Los Barriles is brimming with local history. A revolving door of missionaries and settlers left behind a trail of historic rustic colonial buildings. Like much of the Cabo region, Los Barriles was left relatively untouched until road development put the entire region on the map.
Today, Los Barriles offers outstanding weather, cultural relevance, and a reprieve from the tourist-heavy metropolitan Cabo areas. Dotted with a wide range of architectural styles, Los Barriles offers visitors or homeowners a place that suits them, whether that be contemporary, Spanish Colonial, Mission, or even mid-century modern. A premier destination for any fisherman or traveler looking to escape the city, it still enjoys a choice location as it sits halfway between La Paz and Cabo San Lucas.
