The Municipality of La Paz is pleased to invite you to take advantage of a 30% discount for the 2025 fiscal year, a 20% discount for compliance with the 2024 fiscal year and previous years, and a 50% discount on fines and penalties, all of which will be valid from October 16 until October 31. It is important to mention that this will be the month with the highest discount.

What is the Predial in Mexico?

In Mexico, Predial is a property tax imposed by municipal governments on property owners. It’s similar to property taxes in other countries and is used to fund local infrastructure, public services, and various community needs. Paying your Predial ensures that the local government can maintain and improve public facilities, such as parks, roads, and security services.

Why is it Important to Pay the Predial?

  1. Legal Requirement: Property owners in Mexico are legally required to pay the Predial annually. Failing to pay this tax can result in fines, interest, and even legal issues that may lead to difficulties in selling your property or transferring ownership.

  2. Community Contributions: The funds collected through the Predial are reinvested into local services and infrastructure, directly benefiting residents with cleaner streets, safer neighborhoods, and enhanced public spaces.

  3. Discount Incentives: Many municipalities, including those in Baja California Sur, offer discounts for early payment, allowing homeowners to save money while staying compliant.

The process of paying the Predial in La Paz, Baja California Sur is straightforward and can be completed in several ways:

To complete the process in person you can visit the collection offices located at the Municipal Palace, The Jardines del Recuerdo Cemetery, Municipal Traffic Department, Public Services, Civil Protection, OOMSAPAS La Paz, and the State Government Finance Department modules located in Plaza Galerías, Plaza del Sur, and the Finance Department offices, as well as the three municipal markets in the city.

In rural areas, you can go to the delegational offices in El Sargento, Los Planes, Todos Santos, Los Barriles, San Antonio, and El Carrizal.

Likewise, taxpayers have the option to pay online through the website www.lapaz.gob.mx or at the municipal kiosks operating 24 hours a day, located at the Municipality of La Paz, Municipal Traffic Department, Mi Plaza La Paz, and at the CDM "El Piojillo," as well as through mobile payment stations that will be placed in specific areas of the city.
