On Thursday June 11th, 2020, Baja California SUR Governor Carlos Mendoza made the following announcement:
“The COVID State Alert Level System will be the guide to how to act during the phase we are in. Starting June 15th, we will move from level 6 to 5. Together we have made a great effort and that collective responsibility allows us today, taking care of health, to begin phase two of our economic plan: the gradual reopening. Let consciousness and responsibility be our best guides; let’s continue to apply hygiene and care measures.”
At the meeting of the State Health Safety Committee, they authorized to move from level 6 to 5 in the Health Alert System, so they can restart non-essential, recreational and sociocultural economic activities allowed. As a port SJD Airport provides space for domestic and international passengers to be processed by Mexican Customs and Immigration and does not control their operations.
The implementation of enhanced procedures at the SJD International Airport, such as thermal cameras and travel background checks on all arriving passengers, that will be done in coordination with other state airports, ports and land entry points.

Flora Farms is temporarily closed until further notice. In the meantime, they are offering a complete to-go service with menu, bar and basket options.
Acre has temporarily closed until further notice.
Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is temporarily closed through June 30 and plans to reopen July 1.
Viceroy Los Cabos has temporarily closed until further notice.
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is currently not accepting guests for a short period and are planning for a June 22 reopening.
Hotel El Ganzo has temporarily suspended operations until further notice.
Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is temporarily closed and will reopen again as soon as possible.
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos, Dreams Los Cabos and Breathless Cabo San Lucas are all temporarily closed with a reopening date of July 1.
One&Only Palmilla has temporarily closed as of April 1 with a reopening date yet to be confirmed.
Pueblo Bonito Resorts and Quivira Golf Club have temporarily suspended operations through June 16th.
Montage Los Cabos has temporarily suspended operations through May 31.
JW Marriott Los Cabos is currently temporarily closed and will reopen again as soon as possible.
Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos is temporarily closed through June 14.
ME Cabo and Paradisus Los Cabos are temporarily closed with a reopening date yet to be determined.
Las Ventanas al Paraiso is currently temporarily closed with plans to reopen July 1.
In a move to keep the region and incoming tourists safe the group decided together to keep Los Cabos resorts and beaches on lockdown until June 16th, 2020. A reconsideration of this decision could come sooner.
